seasoned chief executive and chief financial officer with over 23
years experience in multinational companies specializing in downstream
petroleum oil & gas industry, included the Asia's largest oil
company. In possession of solid experience in merger & acquisition,
corporate finance, international financial planning, trade finance,
structured finance; and innovative in exploring alternative financing
methods and sources to meet major capital requirements at favorable
rates and terms. Demonstrated capabilities in business development,
international trade & operation, risk management, corporate
reorganization & business acquisition. He has serviced in the
past as: the President, Head Executive, Group CFO, Vice President-Finance
& Administration, Group Corporate Secretary, Directors of various
companies in Jovo Arco Energy Co. Ltd. (a Joint
Venture Project with BP Oil in China in LPG terminal operation &
wholesale distribution), Perta Oil Marketing Limited &
Group (a fully owned marketing arm of PERTAMINA, Indonesian
National Oil Co.); Mittaheap-Perta Petroleum Ltd.
Cambodia (terminal & distribution operation for petroleum products),
Perta Navigation Corporation (oil tankers chartering
& operation), Zambesi Investments Ltd.(venture
capital investments), and were in key financial management positions
in IMS Pacific Limited (Market research, publishing
& life science laboratory; previously listed in Chicago Board
and later merged with Dun & Bradstreet); Vianini S.p.A.

Trade and Finance |

Developed
effective financial strategies in support of yearly business
turnover of US$1.7 billion.
-
Pioneer
in designing & promoting the use of standby letter of credit
in the early 80s for oil trading in Asia-Pacific Region (The
format & practice are now commonly used in Asia and was
illustrated in ICC’s UCP 500 version).
-
Structured
and negotiated with 12 first class international banks and successfully
concluded total revolving bank credit facilities of US$350 million
for financing oil trading at very competitive financing costs.
-
Structured
& completed the first Asia's syndication trade finance for
a shipment of value US$48 million of VLCC oil shipment from
Ras Tanura to Indonesia during the First Arabian Gulf War time.
-
During
the Asian Financial Crises in 1997-1999, negotiated and arranged
sizeable bank lines for extended credit term of 120 days for
financing importation to Indonesia.

Negotiated
credit insurance for trade finance.

Designed
& set up the entire operation & finance systems for
various companies included international oil trading operation.

Business
development in P.R. China and open up new markets for trade.

new company finance & operation policy manuals.

Tax
planning and appeal for tax saving of multi million US dollars.

In
charge of an arbitration/court case in London & recovered
several million HK dollars from a shipping claim (the case is
now recorded & used as a case study in law school text books).

Many
times accompanied the Ministers of Mining & Energy of Indonesia
for official visits to P.R. China and Taiwan.
-
Negotiated
and concluded sales of a six months term contract for supplies
of 1.5 million barrels of oil to PR China (the 1st oil deal
officially between two State-owned companies). One year later
negotiated and concluded further term sales contract of 2.4
million barrels of Indonesian oil to PR China.
-
During
1985-1987, Attended as a member of the Joint Co-ordinate Committee
Meetings for Supply of Liquidfied Natural Gas (LNG) from Bontang,
Indonesia to Yung An, Taiwan.
-
In
1984, in charge of the steering committee for computerization
project, included an “on-line” trading system .
-
Set
up overseas subsidiary company in Singapore and apply for tax
incentive status.

In
charge of investment company within the group and screening
investment projects and reviewing business plans.
